It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - Season Three
Aron Gold, Esq. READ TIME: 2 MIN.
The hilarious FX-based series, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is starting its fourth season. You can catch up on its third season, now released on DVD.
Being from Philadelphia, I can certainly appreciate this off-color comedy co-starring Danny Devito. In this fantastic season, we follow the lives of four friends, Charlie, Dee, Dennis and Mac, and their off-color older chum Frank, as they sitcom their way through various abstract circumstances. What makes this show work so well is its fantastic writing coupled with its perfectly off-color cast. Devito adds just the right mix of one-liners and slapstick to make this absurdist comedy really kick and punch. And, of course, it's Philadelphia location and inside jokes add that much more to its hometown fans!
The third season release features several fantastic special features to make this purchase a true investment for any fan. There's the "Sunny Side Up Volume 2" Featurette (presumably a continuation of a special feature from the Season 2 collection) which has some funny scenes for you to soak in and laugh at.
The "Meet the McPoyles" is a clever featurette on everyone's favorite villains, the McPoyles. This season, they have a more prominent role torturing the regular cast of "It's Always Sunny...", so it's great to see a special feature devoted to these off-color weirdoes. Another featurette is dedicated to the Dancing Guy who you see in many episodes.
There's a Gag Reel and several TV spots. Of course, there's the obligatory Commentaries from cast and crew on several of the fifteen episodes from season three. The third season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is out now, much to every fan's delight!
