Pedro Pascal took to Instagram to share some snaps of himself and "Gladiator II" co-star Paul Mescal in Morocco, where parts of the movie were filmed – including a pic of the 28-year-old Irish actor cooling off, shirtless, in knee-deep water.

UK newspaper the Daily Mail called the outing "a bromance field trip at what appeared to be the Oum Er-Rbia River in Central Morocco."

Other candid photos show the two swimming together, picnicking in the desert, and kitted out in beekeeping gear, while a video captures the two engaged in some swordfight rehearsal.

Pascal, 49, is joined by a female friend for several of the snaps, including one of a romantic candlelight dinner in an outdoor setting.

"Paul and I didn't really have a lot of words" in the movie, the Mail quoted Pascal as saying "in a BTS video last week."

"We definitely had a lot of punches and tackles," Pascal added. "That was our language."

And what could be better when it comes to male bonding?

Pascal went on to say of his buff co-star, "I call him 'Brick Wall Paul.' It's like a violent dance," he added of their action-packed screen time, "but can't look away!"

The Mail relayed that Mescal "worked out with personal trainer Tim Blakeley five to six days a week for 12 weeks and consumed 300 grams of protein a day, while Pedro mostly relied on his gut getting 'snatched in the leather armor.'"

Pascal told the press that he was a little too old for the intense workouts that Mescal endured.

"I got stronger than I've ever been just so that I can play the character, really," the Mail quoted Pascal saying. "But I'm definitely getting to the point where I can't just wake up and do that shit."
