Watch: Troye Sivan Calls Out the 'Homophobia' and 'Stereotype' of Grindr Speculation on His Reason for Touring

Troye Sivan is calling out what he calls "homophobia" in a blind item at Grindr that suggests he's got ulterior motives for touring with Charli xcx.

The blind item, reported the Tribune Express, "suggested that Sivan's primary motivation for touring was to use Grindr, a popular dating app for gay men, at each stop."

The tour, titled "Sweat," kicked off this past weekend in Detroit and will wrap up Oct. 23 in Seattle.

Taking to TikTok, Sivan shut down the rumor, saying, "Straight people are getting way too comfortable."

"I released an album," Sivan said in the video. "I am touring the album with Charli xcx. We are playing 22 shows across the country – that are 95% sold out, by the way."

The Australian pop icon went on to add, "to say that I am touring the country to go on Grindr every stop – that's genuinely homophobic. It's, like, a stereotype."

But that was just the start. Sivan blasted back, going on to add, "Don't sex shame me. First of all, I don't need to travel the country to get laid, I can get laid wherever I want." With a chuckle, he added: "I can get laid in L.A.!"

But Sivan wasn't finished yet. "So, fuck you," he went on to say, before opining: "If you say 'twink' when you meant to say 'f--got,' that's still a slur. That's, like, our word. I don't think straight people should be using that."

Any too-comfortable straight people might have been feeling a little less at ease after that dressing down.

The two artists are focused on their respective Albums of the Summer, with Sivan drawing from last year's "Something to Give Each Other" (with its hits "Rush" and "One of Your Girls"), and Charli xcx focusing on this summer's smash release, "BRAT."
