The fierce queens of "RuPaul's Drag Race" have officially been chosen for the international stage as part of "RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars."
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the 12 queens of "Global All Stars" will make their debut this summer to fight for the international crown.
Representing the U.S. in season 5 of the competition will be our very own Alyssa Edwards, including queens from around the world, such as Kitty Scott-Claus of "RuPaul's Drag Race UK," Kween Kong of "Drag Race Down Under," Miranda Lebrão of "Drag Race Brazil," Pythia of "Canada's Drag Race," and much more.
Up for grabs is a $200,000 cash prize and a spot in the "international pavilion" of the Drag Race Hall of Fame, "which is officially part of the main 'All Stars' timeline," EW said. The show will reportedly pick up after the current "All Stars 9" charity season ends on July 26.
Michelle Visage will be joining RuPaul on the judges panel, and the panel will feature for the first time as a permanent judge, "Drag Race" choreographer Jamal Sims.
"The world is not ready for RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars," said RuPaul in a statement about the new season. "Twelve queens representing their home countries raises the stakes to a whole new level. Plus, the international mix of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent will – pardon my French – blow your f---ing minds."
To sweeten the deal and celebrate the new season, MTV and the production company behind "Drag Race," World of Wonder, partnered with LGBTQ+ advocacy organization All Out to make a $100,000 donation for the new Drag Saves the World fund.
Look for the premiere of "RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars" on Aug. 16 on Paramount+. The cast includes Edwards, Kong, Lebrão, Athena Sorgelikis, Eva Le Queen, Gala Varo, Kitty Scott-Claus, Nehellenia, Pythia, Soa de Muse, Tessa Testicle, and Vanity Vain.
