Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton will present the 2017 SAG Life Achievement Award to Lily Tomlin at the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The trio starred in the 1980 feminist revenge comedy "9 to 5," currently listed at number 74 on American Film Institute's ranking of the "100 Funniest American Movies of All Time." The film, which was Parton's first feature role, was a major hit, grossing more than $100 million at the domestic box office.

SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris said, "Lily Tomlin is an extraordinary actress, as equally adept at narrative drama as in comedy roles. But it is through her many original characters that Lily's creative genius fully shines. She hasanability to create diverse and distinct characters that are at once familiar, eccentric, and oh so honest --in a way that illuminateslife's hidden corners."

"From Edith Ann to Frankie, her characters are wholly unique, and by exposingevery nuance of human behavior they widen ourscope of understanding. On behalf of nearly 160,000 SAG-AFTRA members, we are honored to bestow our SAG Life Achievement Award on the truly amazing Lily Tomlin," she added.

Fonda and Tomlin are the stars and executive producers of the Netflix comedy series "Grace and Frankie." Tomlin is also up for a SAG Award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series for her role in the show. "Grace and Frankie" returns for its third season in May. She most recently played the title character in the dramedy "Grandma," which earned her a Golden Globe nom.

Tomlin is the 53rd recipient of SAG Life Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. She also won a 2014 Kennedy Center Award, the 2003 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, two Peabody Awards, multiple Emmys, two Tony Awards, a Grammy, and a Writers Guild of America Award. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actress in "Nashville."

The SAG award went to Carol Burnett earlier this year. Other recent recipients include Rita Moreno, Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore.

Tomlin is also set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hollywood union publicists. She will be honored on February 26 at the Beverly Hilton at the 53rd Annual International Cinematographers Guild Publicists Awards.

"Lily Tomlin is a national treasure," said Steven Poster, president of the guild. "She has brought laughter and tears to generations and I'm delighted that she continues to do so with her unique flair."

The SAG Awards will be held on January 29 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, and will be broadcast on TNT and TBS.
