Christian Charity: Georgia Church Sign Calls For Death to Gays

The Harlem hate pastor who called for the stoning of gays in 2014 must have a doppelg�nger in Georgia.

While most houses of worship use the sign outside of the church to post the time for Sunday services or Bingo, the pastor of a Georgia church has decided to use his outdoor display advertising to advocate the execution of gays and lesbians.

"Homosexuality is a Death Worthy Crime," reads the sign outside of the Ten Commandments Church in Milledgeville, Georgia.

The sign was brought to the attention of TV station WGXA by local resident Robert Owens. "This is the first time that I have ever seen anything that actually crossed the line and was inferring death upon a group," Owens said.

The man behind the sign is Ten Commandments Church Pastor Robert Lee, who defended it by stating he was merely quoting Leviticus 20:13.

"Homosexuality is an abomination, and the Bible says that homosexuality is a death worthy crime," Lee told WGXA.

This isn't the first time that Lee used his church sign to convey his extreme anti-gay views. In 2010, local NBC affiliate WGAT reported that the message "Gays and lesbians are disgraces to humanity," was posted outside of the Milledgeville church. When asked to remove the sign, Lee claimed that local officials were infringing on his right to free speech.

"They're willing to work for the homosexuals and their agenda...and their power of government to silence me," he told WGAT.

As for the message on his current sign, Lee points to the case heard before the United States Supreme Court this week. "The institution of marriage was instituted by God and it should not be changed by people who deserve not to live," Lee said.
