Handsome, Headlining, and Hard to Ignore: 7 Male DJs
Timothy Rawles READ TIME: 17 MIN.
Gay spaces have always been where music trends start. All night partying needs a soundtrack, and there have been plenty of pop stars who owe Gay clubs gratitude for spinning their singles. Today it’s all about the DJs. There are many good ones, but let’s focus on some that are exceptional. Whether it’s House, Techno, Dubstep or Trance, these guys set the energy both at the club and on your playlist.
David Guetta
He’s the first DJ to score 20 No. 1’s on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, and a top spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs of 2025; that’s five times now. In 2009 he made Kelly Rowland a dance club queen with “When Love Takes Over,” his first international number one hit and he hasn’t stopped since. Mixing vocals and suspenseful crescendo fused beats, Guerra can still rattle your ribcage with bass so powerful your flesh might suffer from liquefaction.
Martin Garrix
Martin Garrix has the power to bust through the very fabric of dimensional reality. At once you’re on a dance floor, lights and lasers raining down upon you, then you open your eyes and the world is a blur. He’s heading out for a world tour starting in May and summer 2026 may have found its soundtrack. His 2016 rhythmic ear worm “In the Name of Love” is good for both a cooldown and a buildup. And the ethereal “Ocean (ft. Khalid)” is an electro R&B fusion that’s goes down smoother than Sex on the Beach. Talented, handsome and captivating, Martin is a composer of charismatic beats you can dance to; he writes love letters through the magic of song.
Alok
A life-sized Christ the Redeemer made of drones above a dance floor containing thousands of partiers? Only Alok could pull that off. This Brazilian DJ is an up-and-coming artist who has already left audiences stunned. EDM has never been so fresh. Pair his talent for making dopamine hitting songs like “Jungle” and his fashion rock star fashion sense and you have a circuit celebrity in the making.
FISHER
Can the land down under be flipped on its head? If DJ Fisher is in the house, it sure can. His breakout hit was with the air horn infused single “Losing It,” a simple but fun dance song laced with rat-a-tat crescendos. Fisher and his deck are best friends and when they get together the dance floor rejoices. His latest, “Blackberries” is a fun ride that borders on mushroom jazz and beat driven New Age music.
Calvin Harris
Arguably the one who crossed House music into the mainstream with his album “18 Months” back in 2012; Calvin Harris has become synonymous with House Pop. You can’t sit still when Rihanna sings “We Found Love” or Kelis’ “Bounce.” Still going strong, Harris recently released “Ocean,” a love song that weaves rhythmically fast electro beats into Jessie Reyez’s soft spoken lyrics. Sex symbol, musical world builder, and a producer almost every pop artist wants work with, Harris is still at the top of his game.
Afrojack
The life’s blood of Pitbull’s dance banger “Give Me Everything” are Afrojack’s background rhythms. He propels the song into almost a terminal velocity which Ne-Yo rides upon like a tidal wave. Afrojack is another stylish artist who loves his vocalists. He uses their voices as a seasoning to his fondant-smooth compositions. This blend makes for great dance floor toe tappers that collectively raise everyone’s mood.
Tiësto
Arguably the godfather of EDM, Tiësto has become a legend in the art of club core. When his music comes on suddenly everyone raises their arms in respect. He’s still going strong on the modern dance floor. “Bring Me to Life” is his latest anthem that manages to transport you to the warm breeze evenings of an Ibizan sunset.
