Telluride Ski Week Takes Off and Offers Special Screening

Calling all snow bunnies and winter otters! Telluride's ten-day long ski event begins this weekend and now includes a special screening of the documentary "Bridegroom" on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in addition to a guest appearance by the film's producer, Shane Bitney Crone, who will be honored a private reception on Saturday, March 1.

"Bridegroom" chronicles the story of Shane Bitney Crone and his partner Thomas Lee "Tom" Bridegroom, who died in a tragic accident. After Bridegroom's death, Crone found himself cut off and deprived of any legal protection. The film tells the story of their 6-year-long relationship, and the struggles Crone faced after Bridegroom's death, including the family not allowing Crone to attend the funeral of his life partner.

Produced and directed by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason. "Bridegroom" premiered at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival and attracted further press coverage because former President Bill Clinton introduced the film at its premiere. The film won the festival's Audience Award for Best Documentary Film.

Calling All Powder Puffs

With more than four feet of new snow over the past week, ski conditions are some of the best Telluride has experienced in more than a decade and promise to offer attendees yet another year of amazing skiing at Telluride Gay Ski Week. Powder Magazine recently dubbed the event "the greatest gay ski week in the world."

Telluride Gay Ski Week brings together gay and lesbian skiers and snowboarders from across the country and around the world. Guests can look forward to a renowned mix of skiing, parties, celebrities and entertainers; including, popular DJs nightly and the town's favorite ski week event, the annual White Night Party on Thursday, Feb. 27.
