MILWAUKEE, WI - Following a growing travel industry trend of marketing to identifiable communities, My Destination Wellness, a customized fitness vacation provider affiliated with Funjet Vacations, announced its first gay wellness retreat.
The event will take place October 6-11, 2012, at El Dorado Royale by Karisma, a five-star resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The five-day all-inclusive program is priced at $1,199 per person based on double occupancy, not including airfare.
Services include beachside exercise classes, personal training sessions and healthy meals prepared with organic produce grown on property - all guided by individual "Wellness Concierges." Programs are designed to help travelers remove the distractions they experience at home, reach their fitness goals, and also have a great vacation.
"This is the same great wellness program that we offer year-round," said My Destination Wellness creator and trainer David Pritchard. "We're just providing an option for guests who might want to experience a wellness vacation at the same time as other gay travelers."
According to Pritchard, the retreat will offer a comfortable environment, and the camaraderie of being with guests who share common experiences. He added that the event is open to singles and couples alike.
"I believe that when people are truly enjoying their surroundings, they realize they want those surroundings to last," Pritchard says. "Designing a wellness plan while you are on vacation, and in an atmosphere of support, allows you to put the focus on yourself so that you have the tools to be successful once you go home."
A leader in the health and fitness industry for the last 20 years, David Pritchard has trained professional athletes, Olympians, and top-level executives. He is certified by the American Council on Exercise and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His wellness philosophy incorporates exercise, strengthening mind and body, creating a lifelong eating plan and healthy lifestyle changes for each individual, no matter what fitness level.
