Judith Light Will Receive GLAAD's Excellence In Media Award

Emmy and Tony winner Judith Light is getting an award for being a light in the lives of LGBTQ people.

As reported by Deadline, Light is set to receive the Excellence in Media Award at the 33rd annual GLAAD Media Awards next month in New York City.

The honor will be presented by "West Side Story" Best Supporting Actress Ariana DeBose in a ceremony hosted by Peloton instructor Cody Rigby and "RuPaul's Drag Race" alum Peppermint.

GLAAD's Excellence in Media Award are given to media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people. Previous honorees including Ava DuVernay, Robert De Niro, Patti LaBelle, Debra Messing, Tyra Banks, Julianne Moore, Glenn Close, Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer, among others.

Light has starred in TV comedies "Who's the Boss?" and "Transparent."
