Get ready to weep.

The trailer for the highly anticipated film "Boy Erased," about a teen boy sent to a gay conversion therapy, got its first trailer Tuesday. The clip also features new music from Troye Sivan, the out pop singer who also appears in the film.

Directed by actor Joel Edgerton, who also stars in the film, "Boy Erased" is based on the memoir of the same name by Garrad Conley and features a star-studded cast, including "Lady Bird" actor Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Cherry Jones. Out filmmaker Xavier Dolan is also appearing in the film, as is Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" star Joe Alwyn.

Focus Features, which is distributing the film, added a description of "Boy Erased," which "tells the story of Jared (Hedges), the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents (Kidman and Crowe) at age 19. Jared is faced with an ultimatum: attend a conversion therapy program - or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith. "Boy Erased" is the true story of one young man's struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity."
