American Reunion

For any reunion movie to work, it must have the entire cast back. Luckily this is the case for "American Reunion", the 4th film in the "American Pie" franchise and the best sequel after the duds that were parts 2 and 3. The raunchy film series also redeems itself after dreadful direct-to-DVD spin-off movies.

The gang is back to get together for their high school reunion and life has changed for friends Jim (Jason Biggs), Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Oz (Chris Klein). Stifler (Seann William Scott) has not changed, still acting like a smarmy, cocky high school kid. Meanwhile, Jim's dad (Eugene Levy) is recently single and has the hots for Stifler's mom (Jennifer Coolidge). Rebecca DeMornay has a hilarious cameo as Finch's (Eddie Kaye Thomas) mom.

The Blu-ray has a plethora of features, including the unrated version and separate character examinations. "Dancing with the Oz" shows how Chris Klein prepared for his dance moves, while "The Best of Biggs" features scenes of Jason Biggs interacting with the cast and how they appreciate his comedic timing.

"Lake Bake" is a day at the lake where one of the biggest scenes takes place, while "The Out of Control Track" should be skipped at all costs...this is where the actors pop-up during the film and offer inane commentary. Other amusing features are a 3-minute gag reel, and "Ouch! My Balls!" where male cast members "crotch-blast" each other on-set.

The "American Reunion" Blu-ray is the perfect summer viewing for a smutty, yet sweet film with a heart.
