Good evening America. It's recently come to my attention that actress Chole Sevigny does not like to wear fake penises.

The Australian newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, reported that Sevigny "cried every day" when she had to wear a prosthetic penis for her new television series, "Hit & Miss."

The "Big Love" star will play a pre-op transgender hit man named Mia. But she admitted the fake penis greatly upset her as she started to worry that men would no longer find her attractive.

"I cried every day when they put it on. You know, I'm ample-chested and I have this on," Sevigny said. "I felt very exposed, and it was hard, very hard, having people so close to your personal parts anyway - who you're not sleeping with - for an hour-and-a-half each day, to put it on."

"Then looking in the mirror... it was weird. I was lonely and I felt really unattractive," the 37-year-old actress added. "I was confused about my desirability - was I desirable? - in having put that on, and having men see me with that on."

The "Gummo" actress went on to say that playing the transgender hit man was one of the most challenging roles she has ever done.

"I think it might be one of the most extreme roles I've done, yes. I've never really worked with prosthetics. I've never done any fantasy or anything weird. Then again, if people can believe what's her-name in 'Avatar', hopefully they can believe me as a pre-op," she said.

Sevigny, who has a large gay following, has played in a number of "interesting" characters in the past, including a backwoods teen in "Gummo," and a polygamist in the HBO series "Big Love." She is also known for the controversial scene in Vincent Gallo's "Brown Bunny" where she performs oral sex on him.

It's possible Sevigny gained even more of a gay following thanks to Drew Droege -- a comedian who created a number of popular YouTube videos parodying the fashion icon. Watch a hilarious video of Droege poking fun of Sevigny below:

So this article confused me a bit, but I did some digging and she is playing a pre-op male to female... So her being upset over having to wear a fake penis is understandable. Any person who has gender identity issues would have a hard time. I think it confirms that those who are trans are not crazy. If you have always felt like a woman then when your physical gender does not match your emotional gender it would make you emotionally upset. This article also touches on how part of her emotional upset was having a lot of other people "aving people so close to your personal parts anyway - who you’re not sleeping with - for an hour-and-a-half each day, to put it on" Personally the article just needed to clarify the situation. It lacked the background info about her character.

I think the point of the article is to show that she’s a whiny 37 year old who has nothing to complain about than people getting close to her junk for a role. Did she not realize what she was getting into when she took the part? Please.. I feel no sympathy for her, in fact if I could dislike her even more (which I can’t because I already think she is useless) then I would. The fact that she feels she can cry/complain/whine about her not feeling "attractive" for a brief moment (and for a role) should have shown her how REAL trans feel all the time.. imagine not EVER feeling comfortable with your body. Ugh.. she should just never speak. ever.

No, Areistia.... I disagree. She is not whiny, she is sharing real feelings. I cannot believe you are discounting how she feels about personal space around her intimate areas. She is one the only actors in Hollywood that CONSISTENTLY takes on genderqueer roles in order to make sure the stories are told. Cut her some slack and respect the craft is imperfect. Is she not allowed feelings? If you want people to respect you, respect others first.

Ok, I am a pre op Transexual, and I think she was feeling exactly the way a pre op transexual feels. She should have used the feelings as motivation. But I don’t get why she had to put on a fake penis anyway, unless she was walking around nude in every scene. I mean I don’t know many self-respecting transwomen who would walk around in public un-tucked. That in its self is a misrepresentation of the majority of us! Honestly, it is one of the first things you do when your getting ready to go anywhere. Was she tucking it too? There are plenty of trans actors out there why can’t they give the roles to them? Maybe because we won’t do that type of thing, walk around with noticable "buldge" I mean. In which case... why is she whining? She got paid to strap one on! And by the way my partner of 16 years finds me plenty desirable, thank you!She got to take that thing off at the end of the day, she really could have watched the way she worded what she said. But I am sure she will continue to have a big gay following, as I live in San Francisco and find that the gay community sees gay and trans as two very seperate issues.
